How it decides
How the truth or dare wheel picks
The truth or dare wheel has 3 Truth and 3 Dare slices, so each spin is a fair 50/50. Once it lands, a truth or a dare comes off the top of a shuffled deck for the players you picked.
- 254Prompts in the bank132 truths and 122 dares
- 1 in 8Three dares in a row0.5 × 0.5 × 0.5 = 12.5% on the default wheel
- 2Separate decksTruths and dares shuffle on their own
Shy group? Open Edit entries & settings, then “Weights, colors & images”, and give every Truth slice a weight of 2, and truths come up 66.7% of the time. Your browser's secure random generator settles each spin before the slices start turning, and the randomness checker lets you test it.
Quick start
How to play with the truth or dare wheel
One phone or laptop passed around the room is enough to run the truth or dare wheel. It suits a sleepover, a birthday party, a family game night or a new group's first meeting, with no cards, app or sign-up.
Pick who is playing
Choose Kids, Teens, Family, Friends or Couples next to the wheel. Each one is a separate set of prompts.
Set the heat
Choose Mild, Medium, Spicy or All levels. All levels mixes the 3 into one bigger deck.
Spin for your turn
Hit Spin, click the wheel or press Space. The truth or dare wheel shows your fate and the prompt to answer or do.
Answer, act or skip
Not a fit? “Skip, draw another” deals a new prompt of the same kind. Then pass the device on.
Players who like to choose for themselves can skip the spin: Draw a truth and Draw a dare deal straight from the decks. A counter shows how many of each are left before a reshuffle.

Mild, medium or spicy?
Mild is easy and friendly, medium asks a little more, and spicy is silly or embarrassing. Spicy never means sexual. Every dare works at home with no special equipment.
| Level | Truths ask about | Dares ask you to | Prompts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mild | Favorites, wishes and happy memories | Do quick, easy actions, such as a robot dance or a pirate voice | 46 truths, 42 dares |
| Medium | Small secrets, habits and awkward moments | Give short performances, such as opera singing or a 20-second plank | 44 truths, 38 dares |
| Spicy | Embarrassing stories and cringe moments | Act over the top, with silly voices and dramatic scenes | 42 truths, 42 dares |
| Deck | Best for | Truths | Dares |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kids | Home, sleepovers and birthday parties | 60 | 60 |
| Teens | Sleepovers, youth groups and hangouts | 72 | 66 |
| Family | Parents, kids and grandparents around one table | 72 | 66 |
| Friends | Adult friends at parties and get-togethers | 76 | 66 |
| Couples | Date nights, sweet and a little romantic | 36 | 36 |
Light prompts sit in several decks, so a family game and a teen sleepover share the favorite-snack questions. Couples prompts appear only in Couples, and no prompt involves alcohol, risky stunts, damage or sharing private messages.

Spicy truth or dare questions for adults
For adults, pick Friends or Couples on the truth or dare wheel and set the level to Spicy. You get cringe confessions, dramatic scenes and cheesy pickup lines, the kind of truth or dare that gets a room laughing.
What you won't get is anything explicit, drinking forfeits or dares that need a stranger. That keeps the game safe to play at a work party, a family holiday or a first double date.
Friends has 76 truths and 66 dares across all levels. Couples has 36 of each, written to be asked across the table on a date night.
Keeping spicy fun for everyone
- Mix the heat. All levels blends Mild and Medium into the deck, which helps when some guests are new.
- Play Couples as two. Its prompts say “me” and “us”, so they suit a pair rather than a party.
- Skip without a fuss. One tap on “Skip, draw another” keeps a prompt from stalling the round.

Whose turn?
Pick the player and the prompt in one spin
Press “Add a players wheel” beside the truth or dare wheel, type your names, then press Spin all. The two wheels spin side by side, then one popup names the player, the slice and the prompt.
The new wheel is called Players and starts with 4 placeholder names. Replace them under Edit entries & settings, one name per line. Each wheel keeps its own colors, so the Truth and Dare slices stay blue and pink.
With 6 players, each name has a 1 in 6 chance on every spin, and a 1 in 12 chance of landing a dare. A whole class fits better in the random name picker, which has a classroom mode for long lists.
- 16.7%Picked on a spinOne named player out of 6
- 8.3%Picked for a dare1/6 × 1/2 with the default slices
Deleted the Truth and Dare slices by mistake? The panel offers “Put them back”, which restores all 6 in one tap. Your own entries, such as “Dare: sing like a robot”, show exactly as typed when the wheel lands on them.
House rules
House rules that keep the game fun
Settle these before anyone spins, so a dare never turns into a debate. They work for a sleepover, a party or a date night.
Anyone can pass
Skip any prompt with no penalty. “Skip, draw another” makes it a one-tap thing.
Ask before touching
A dare that involves another player needs that player's OK first, every time.
Stories stay here

An adult picks for kids

Want a different kind of game?

FAQ
Truth or dare wheel FAQ
How many truth or dare questions are on the wheel?
254: 132 truths and 122 dares. They are split across 5 decks and 3 levels, and many mild prompts are shared by several decks.
Is the truth or dare wheel safe for kids?
Yes, with the Kids or Family deck. No prompt in the bank is sexual, mentions alcohol or drugs, or asks for a risky stunt. An adult should still choose the deck and the level.
What does spicy mean here?
Silly or embarrassing. Expect cringe stories and dramatic fainting scenes, never anything sexual or unsafe.
What are good truth or dare questions for friends?
Ones that start a story. “What fib did you tell that everyone believed?” works better than a yes-or-no question. Pick the Friends deck at Medium or Spicy.
Can the same prompt come up twice?
Not until its deck runs out. Truths and dares shuffle separately, and the last prompt never comes straight back. A new deck or level starts fresh, as does a reload, and Reshuffle puts everything back. Truth or Dare itself can repeat, because each spin is independent.
Can I add my own truths and dares?
Yes. Open Edit entries & settings and type them in Entries, one per line, such as “Dare: sing like a robot”. The wheel lands on your text as written instead of drawing from the bank.
Does the truth or dare wheel work on a phone?
Yes. Tap the wheel or press Spin, then pass the phone around. Full screen keeps the wheel large for a group.
Is this truth or dare wheel free?
Yes. Every prompt and feature is free, with no account, app or download. Your deck and level choices are remembered in this browser. The wheel shares its engine with the main spin the wheel tool, so weights, colors and share links all work.
